Rental Criteria

We're delighted by your interest in Monterey Village Apartments, the choice for subsidized housing! Our spacious apartments have been thoughtfully designed to cater to the specific needs and preferences of our esteemed residents. Thank you for considering us for your next home!
 

Overview of Screening Criteria:

  • Satisfactory rental history. (Lack of history will not be a cause for rejection).
  • No previous evictions for lease violations.
  • Good credit history. (Lack of history will not be a cause for rejection).
  • Demonstrated ability to pay rent.

Below are outlines of the application process. We hope this helps you in submitting your application.


Completing Your Application:
Please complete the application in its entirety. If any areas do not apply to your household, indicate them with N/A in the appropriate section. In addition to submitting this application, you will also need the following:

  1. Proof of Identity (Documents Required) *
    1. Picture ID
    2. Social Security Card*
    3. Birth Certificate*
       
  2. Proof of Income (Documents Required) *
    1. Proof of Employment; 6 most recent pay stubs, if working
    2. Social Security Benefits Verification Letter
    3. Pension Statement or Award Letter
    4. TANF Verification Letter – Award Letter from DSS
    5. Gift Income – Signed and dated letter from payor.
    6. Child Support Verification Letter
       
  3. Proof of Assets (Document Required) *
    1. Checking Account - 6 months of recent, consecutive bank statements,
    2. Savings Account – Most Recent bank statement
    3. Direct Deposit Card – Balance Inquiry from ATM
    4. Retirement Account - 401k, IRA, etc.
    5. Whole life insurance cash value – Recent Life Insurance policy statement
    6. Investment Account Statement - Stocks, bonds, mutual funds, crypto, etc.

Submitting Your Application:

Once your application is complete and you have all additional documentation, submit your application and documentation in its entirety to the Management Office.

  • Drop off the application at our office at Monterey Village Apartments 133 Monterey Pl, Norwalk, CT 06854 during business hours (M-F 9:00 AM 5:00 PM)
  • Send the application via email to Monterey@vestacorp.com
  • Mail the application to our office at 133 Monterey Pl, Norwalk, CT 06854

Once the complete application and documentation are received, we can begin processing and discuss with you the apartment availability.
